I am not the contents of my wallet. I am not a beautiful and unique snowflake. And I seem to be having tremendous difficulty with my lifestyle.

I'm a Montreal-based science fiction writer, illustrator, comic artist, reviewer, and editor. Straight, male, currently single, and theoretically poly. Also an atheist, a skeptic, and generally rational most of the time.

My first story collection, Burning Days (2011) is now available from Nanopress.ca.

My stories have appeared in Interzone, Northern Stars, ArrowDreams: An Anthology of Alternate Canadas (Signature Editions, 1997), Island Dreams: Montreal Writers of the Fantastic (Véhicule, 2003), Year's Best SF 10 (Harper/EOS, 2005), in Solaris (in French), and in Urania 49: Stelle Che Bruciano (2008: Millemondo) (in Italian).

With David G. Hartwell, I co-edited Northern Stars: The Anthology of Canadian Science Fiction (Tor, 1994) and a second volume, Northern Suns (Tor, 1999).

At the annual Burning Man festival my name is "Science," and I am one of two Montreal Regional Contacts for the Burning Man organization.
